Former ATP-ranked professional player with experience on the international tennis circuit.
Second-serve technique, efficient footwork, return patterns and match preparation.
MY BALL MACHINE
My Veva R2 supports focused repetition and footwork practice. I use live partners for return reading and match decisions.
Aim for depth and spin, then recover before the next ball.
Prepare early and repeat a stable contact point with controlled feeds.
Alternate both wings at a feed interval that allows balanced recovery.
Move forward, place the approach shot and prepare for the next volley.
KEEP IT FOCUSED
Four focused on-court sessions each week, adjusted around coaching, partners and court availability.
Build a dependable second serve, then connect it to returns and the next shot.
Practise forehand and backhand depth, recovery between shots and short-ball transitions.
Warm up, practise spin and placement, and record the outcome of 40 second serves.
Work on real returns, play scored points, and review one tactical theme.
Record each session and its main lesson. Review progress every four weeks with consistent tests and match feedback.
Stabilise the second serve and establish baseline rally and match records.
Review Record serve consistency and double faults.
Improve depth, recovery and the first ball after a serve or return.
Review Repeat the same tests and check transfer to live rallies.
Use scored points and different opponents to test a simple game plan.
Review Review at least five sets and choose the next training focus.
Develop a reliable playing pattern, stronger second serves and better point construction.
Review Use coach feedback and repeated match performance, not a single drill score.
These are personal practice targets. Reaching them does not establish an official NTRP rating.
Practice target ≥ 85%
Use a fixed 40-serve test, split between both service courts. Record in-bounds serves, foot faults and placement.
Stage target ≤ 3 / set
Track at least five sets and note the number of service games.
15 consecutive shots
Test both wings with the same partner and a comparable rally pace.
At least 12 / 20 balls per wing
Count in-bounds shots landing beyond the service line under consistent feeding conditions.
Two short strength and mobility sessions each week, with time for recovery.
